The core internal iPad application Cathay Pacific pilots use for daily flight operations — planning, navigation, fuel, weather, and notices.

At Cathay Pacific and Cathay Technologies I lead iOS for Flight Folder: architecture, delivery, and a team of 4 engineers. This is software that has to work at 35,000 feet.

A large-scale refactoring lifted the crash-free rate from 87% to 99%. Profiling and rendering work cut load times by 30%. Replacing Realm Sync with an in-house Socket Sync stack made the app more stable and faster, and saved about HK$2 million a year on MongoDB. The product was strong enough to spin out as Cathay Technologies, offering the platform to other airlines.

Lead iOS for Flight Folder — architecture, delivery, and mentoring for a 4-person iOS group. Also built ELK monitoring with custom dashboards and real-time alerts, and established PR review practice.

First iOS hire in a new mobile department. Built three products: Sail with Fleet from scratch (public iPhone hiring), a recruiter web cabinet for searching candidate CVs, and an internal iPad app that digitized ship inspections with live analytics.
